Cold April -
I wake to the whisper
of radiators.
Cold April -
His jacket hanging
on its hook.
Cold April -
My winter jacket
left in the car.
Cold April -
The buds decline
our company.
Cold April -
My landlord blames the dogs
for the brown grass.
Jessica, This is the 2nd time I have been inspired by one of your poems. It doesn't happen often even though I have been reading a lot of poetry by many poets. The inspiration hits me immediately and I know that I am inspired.
ReplyDeleteAfter I read your haiku string here, I just started writing and didn't stop until I wrote: "COOL APRIL" Not an haiku, this is my NaPoWriMo Day 26 poem (link below).
Thank you and Happy Poetry Month!

Cheryl,
DeleteThank you for the kind words and for sharing your poems. They are lovely. I especially like this one:
It’s a cool April
A month of tragedy.
Midst the worst we see the best parts of humanity.
So true.
